I told our leadership team last evening that the last few weeks for me has been incredible. There have been times in my ministry as a church planter that I wondered why things were not moving faster. I now realize that I might have been ahead of God. (And whether I'm behind or ahead, I'm not in sync and that's never good!) However, lately I find myself running to keep up. It's as if God is opening many doors at once and I find myself in places where God has already accomplished something and is waiting for me to figure it out. Here are just a few of the things I mentioned to our leadership team in my pastor's report last night:
- Update on Easter Meal Donations - New goal: 100 meals!
- Update on potential new leadership team member
- Possible new Children’s Ministry Leader
- Tech Team now ably led by Bryan Trubachik
- Lunch today with possible new Prayer Team leader
- Lunch Tuesday with possible new Men’s Ministry leader
- Providing premarital counseling for couple being married on April 16th
Isn't that an incredible list? These days I wake up and wonder, 'What are You going to do today, Lord?' It's a great place to be! I also told our leadership team about a wonderful experience I enjoyed last Friday evening. More than 60 Richland County pastors and their spouses were blessed by an evening of dinner, worship, prayer, and fellowship over at Ontario Christian Fellowship. Mary Kay and I connected with another church planter and his wife, Aaron and Tara Rose, who are leading the Pavilion Community Church in Lexington, Ohio. Aaron and I are planning on enjoying breakfast together Saturday morning.
Last night we also considered upcoming dates in April. We will offer our next membership opportunity, what we call the Belong Class, on Saturday April 2nd. If OCF is available, we plan on having another potluck on April 10th. We discussed the possibility of having a Good Friday service on Friday evening, April 22nd. We decided to think and pray about it and decide two weeks from tonight at our social gathering. And we formally approved the food distribution date for the Easter Meal Donations on Saturday, April 23rd.
