Tonight we enjoyed the fifth weekend of our LOST series, with the Hawaiian theme, set, decorations, and attire. Mansfield has suffered through the greatest snowfall amount for a February in recorded history. So it would seem like our idea of thinking warmer thoughts for LOST was a good one.
I really enjoyed sharing this particular talk. I've actually been looking forward to giving it since the very beginning of the LOST series. It really speaks to my own heart of just how much our heavenly Father loves me. Obviously, as you listen, you can tell that there are times when I get choked up thinking about it.
One other quick note - the part about the real meaning of radical... I got this from a podcast from Catalyst that I listened to a few weeks ago. Rick Warren talked about the root meaning of radical and it dawned on me that this was exactly what I needed for tonight's talk. The interesting thing is that Warren never (to my knowledge) applied his radical concept to God the Father's love as I did tonight. What I have learned about preaching is that there is very little that is "brand new." What I so enjoy doing is mashing different concepts together, maybe in a way that hasn't been done before.
So... what is so radical about our heavenly Father's love for us? Join me for this audio sermon, part 5 of LOST, as we study Luke 15:17-24.
