We enjoyed another wonderful Church Requel service last evening. I had breakfast with Steve Thoman this morning and we both agreed that it seems we have really turned a corner since moving our church to the new location at Ontario Christian Fellowship. It seems like every week we have new folks coming as well as new people volunteering to come forward and helping. I am really loving the challenge of leading a brand new congregation.
One of the great joys of this role is watching people step out of their comfort zones and stepping into new roles. Last night, for example, I watched Jana Edwards come early with her husband, Luke, who was playing on the Praise Team. Rather than just sit around, she immediately came up to me and asked what she could do to help. There are many cords laid down around the chapel and every one of them were safely taped down by Jana. This same Jana has played the keyboard occasionally. Her service, both up front and behind the scenes, give us a picture of what we hope many people continue to do at CR!
Below is the audio sermon from last evening. I hope to have the video up sometime Tuesday or Wednesday. What does Paul have in mind when he writes, "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling." Join me as we consider 8 roadside signs of our salvation from Philippians 2:12-18.
