Sunday will be a big day in the young life of Church Requel! The dedicated setup team will arrive at 1PM, an hour earlier than normal. At 3PM about two dozen folks, who are interested in becoming charter members, will attend the Membership Class. We'll complete session 7, "Our Strategies," and session 8, "Our Structure." By 5PM we'll stop the membership class and give our band a chance for a runthrough for Sunday evening's service. Then we'll begin our worship at 6PM.
This weekend's Church Requel service will be a very special one indeed! This weekend we will baptize six more folks! Two of them have provided us with a video testimony, sure to be inspirational. We are expecting several guests - family and friends of those being baptized.
Nate, Dave, Jana and Ryan will lead us in our worship set, which will include our newest song: "This is Home." Nate and company sang it for the first time last weekend. Now it will be our congregation's chance to join in this theme song for the Belong Series. I'm looking forward to the combination of this song with our Greeting Time, when we will congratulate all the new baptizees.
We could just go home and know we've had a great day. There's even more good things in store, however! Jana Edwards has worked on a new keyboard piece for our communion service. Scott McKinney will be reading our Scripture reading.
Also, I'm planning on sharing - for the first time ever - the results of our leadership team's work on our Core Values. It's been a wonderful experience working with these team members over the past several months figuring out exactly what it is that makes Church Requel unique - what sets it apart. I think you'll find it a worthy conclusion to a great day!
