Good Friday Morning Church Requel!
Are you in a gaming mood? I hope so, because Game Night is tonight!!! Yay! Have you ever noticed how many of you love to come together and just have fun? Tonight is one of those nights when we enjoy each other's company, where the kiddos of all ages play together, and we can enjoy the good foods and drinks provided by your generosity.
Game Night is magical because there really isn't much of an agenda. We all bring games we like to play. We find others who might want to play with us. And sometimes we all play one game together - like Sardines. You haven't really discovered our beautiful Point of Grace yet until you've searched every nook and cranny to find where everyone else has disappeared! Don't have any idea what I'm talking about? Come tonight at 7pm and you'll find out. Bring all the kids. Bring a friend. Bring a game. Bring some snacks and pop. We start at 7pm and we end at... well who knows? We'll find out together tonight!
Sunday Morning - 7 Biblical Steps to Conflict Resolution. We continue our Crazy Maker sermon series this Sunday morning with more conversation about how to resolve conflict in the way the Bible teaches. Last Sunday we talked about the first, and most important, step: Take The Initiative. If you haven't heard it - or just need a refresher - you can listen to last week's talk here or here. We wrap up this conversation with the next six steps on Sunday. I promise a helpful talk with real life applications.
Two other quick notes about this coming Sunday's worship service. We love our videos at CR and this coming Sunday I have a funny one to share with you right before the message. What would life be like if technology could change our harsh words spoken in the heat of an argument to something more affirming? You'll laugh as you see just how ridiculous this concept is. Any real change comes from an inward heart change, right?
Also this Sunday Diana Devolder is back from her KidsMin Conference, where she was charged up along with 2,000 other children's pastors. This begs the question of whether Diana needs any more "charging up." Nevertheless, Diana is back and is excited to talk to our kids. She tells me she has something special up her sleeve that none of the children will want to miss.
New Members' Class. I'm also really excited about the response to our new membership class - what we call the "Belong" Class - next Saturday morning, October 26th. As of this writing, we have 9 people signed up. This Sunday will be your last opportunity to sign up for this 5-hour seminar, which will teach you everything you ever wanted to know about Church Requel. You'll hear about our history, what we believe, our organization, and what it means to be a member. You don't have to become a member if you decide to come to the class. However, you cannot become a member of Church Requel, without first attending this class. We will serve a continental breakfast and a Subway lunch. Registration begins at 8am and the class begins at 8:30am. We plan to meet in the fellowship hall downstairs.
Men's Breakfast on the 1st Saturday. The guys of Church Requel have decided that they would like to have breakfast together on the first Saturday morning of each month. Should be easy to remember that way. We also will be working our way through a Bible study called, "Quiet Strength," written by Coach Tony Dungee. We will be offering the book at a church-subsidized price of $8. There will be a sign-up sheet in the lobby of the church for you guys to sign up for the breakfast. There is also an opportunity for you to check that you can come early to help set up or stay late to help clean up. Fred Wiegand has volunteered to cook our breakfast for us. So men, plan to make your way to the church kitchen on Saturday, November 2nd!
I love the way our church is growing - both in numbers and in relationships. Hope to see most of you tonight at 7pm. Love, Pastor Mark
