Good Friday morning Church Requel!
Didn't we enjoy an amazing worship together this past Sunday? We so appreciate Mansfield Christian School and Image coming to lead our worship experience. And what an amazing potluck meal! You all just do better and better each year. MCS students and parents really enjoyed their day with us. One other wonderful piece of news - you were generous with your love offering, graciously giving over $400 to support their ministry. Wow! I am so overwhelmed by your love and support. Thank you!
Chris Tomlin Songs This Sunday! This is our featured artist Sunday! Today our worship team has chosen music that has been sung by or written by Chris Tomlin, an American contemporary Christian music artist, worship leader, and songwriter from Grand Saline, Texas. He has sold nearly 30 million records and has received 19 GMA Dove Awards and the Grammy award for Best Contemporary Christian Album in 2012. Many of the worship songs we sing week in and week out are written by Tomlin, so this should be an especially worshipful Sunday for you and our praise team leaders. Let’s praise God with Chris Tomlin and his many familiar and loved songs.
More Amazing Love Sunday Morning Too! We will continue our sermon series from the Prodigal Son parable Sunday morning. This week we focus on the character of the father in the story. The love God the Father has for us is radical! We will discover 7 action verbs that describe just how R.A.D.I.C.A.L. God’s love really is! Along the way we'll view a very special video from the Skit Guys that could transform how you think about God's love for you!
National Day Of Prayer on May 4th. We would love to see many in our church join in with the 66th annual national observance of the National Day Of Prayer. This event happens each year on the first Thursday in May. We encourage you to join others from Church Requel at the Central Park Gazebo in downtown Mansfield on Thursday May 4th between 11:30am and 1pm. This community wide event will include corporate prayer, worshipful music by local musicians. There will also be a keynote speaker.
Dinner Theater Fundraiser. We have an exciting opportunity for anyone wanting to help us fund the sanctuary upgrades we are planning this year. On Saturday evening, May 6th, Paul Lintern will host a dinner theater downstairs entitled, “1928.” Those attending will enjoy a “live radio” broadcast from Mansfield’s own WJW radio, with Harold Arlin as emcee. Part of the funds raised will help pay for new carpeting in the sanctuary. Reservations for the $25 a plate dinner can be made by calling Pat at 419-756-1372. This will be a fun way to enjoy a night out and do some good at the same time. I'm told that about 60 reservations have been made so far. We are hoping for 100 total.
Keep Praying! I don't think I've ever experienced a time in ministry when such a high percentage of our congregation are so seriously ill. Please keep up your faithful prayers for Jenny, Aimee and Loni. I received some news this week from Dave about Jenny's progress. She continues to work on her therapy and learning how to swallow. That part has not gone as well as hoped for. The good news - Thursday was the first day Jenny had gone for 24 hours with no vent help! Dave is praying that Jenny will soon be moved out of the Ross and into Dodd Hall for full-time PT and OT. Let's join David in that prayer!
Love you all much! Pastor Mark
