Good Friday morning Church Requel!
Tonight is our night to lead the March of Prayer! For the 4th year in a row, Church Requel is offering a 2-hour evening of praise and prayer as part of the 31-day March of Prayer. This is unique to Mansfield, Ohio, where churches from all over our community cooperate in praying and worshiping together. Each church offers their own unique style and order of worship.
We encourage all of you to come if you are able. Actually it would be great if you could show up early and be good hosts to those from other churches, who will be visiting tonight. Show them where the snacks, coffee and water are located. Show them where the bathrooms are located. Smile! Welcome everyone you see with enthusiasm!
Tonight the band will be singing a mix of some of our newest songs and some of our favorite songs. Our teenagers will join in and sing with us in the middle of the evening's worship. We've also invited several folks to come and lead our prayer times together, including
- Mary Kay and Annabelle from NAMI, praying for families dealing with mental illness, suicide and addiction
- Eddie Walker, praying for our teachers, students and families
- Brian Betts, praying for churches & pastors, and global missions
- Paul LIntern, who will recognize the various churches visiting
- Rev. El - our city councilman at Church Requel. We will surround him, lay hands upon him, and pray God's blessing and strengthening as he helps to lead our city.
If you cannot be at Church Requel tonight, tune in on Facebook or on YouTube. We plan to stream the entire event. Many thanks again to Leanna, who will be managing our internet stream from her home in South Carolina. For those of you tuning in via YouTube, here is the link for tonight - https://youtu.be/MiCvaTWnRIM.
I hope you will join me in praying all day long for tonight - as well as for each church and each night of prayer. Naturally we are most excited about our own special night this evening.
However, consider how special and how unique and how privileged we are to be a part of a community where churches cooperate together in what we agree upon - prayer and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ - rather than focusing upon our differences.
This gives me great hope! Hope that is so desperately needed in our community right now! So pray today! Pray tonight! And keep on praying at as many churches as you can attend.
Love you much! Pastor Mark
